Sisters Aastha and Saanya Chawla founded Aomidori Shimai in 2022, building the label around a simple conviction: a handbag is an intimate object and should carry your soul's spark. Every piece is hand-embellished in India using traditional embroidery techniques — ghungroo, sequins, katdana and hand-beading — with some bags taking days to complete. Playful, bold and a little dramatic, the collection turns craft-heavy Indian handwork into bucket bags, clutches and east-west flap bags for a wearer who wants her accessories to do some talking.
